Wheels in the Sky to turn Thursday at Plaza Palooza

 

Wheels in the SkyMusic fans of the 1980s-era rock band Journey, who took the words "Don’t Stop Believin," won't want to miss cover band Wheels in the Sky: A Tribute to Journey at Plaza Palooza this Thursday, Aug. 2.

Wheels in the Sky vocalist Michael Vincent Michaels, III, masters a near perfect rendition of Steve Perry’s vocal range in hit favorites from the "Infinity" and "Raised on Radio" albums, including radio station staples, "Any Way You Want It" and "Who’s Cryin' Now." Formed in 2010, the band also includes four renowned local musicians: guitarist Laird Franklin, bassist John McIsaac, keyboardist George Melissa and drummer Albie Forsterer.

The Oregon Convention Center’s free, outdoor concert series, Plaza Palooza, is located at NE Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard and NE Oregon Street. Food and beverages celebrating the seasonal bounty of the Pacific Northwest will be available for purchase. Guests can download a $1 off food coupon here.
