Oregon Zoo to implement non-smoking policy May 26

The Oregon Zoo is going smoke-free. Starting May 26, the use of tobacco products, including cigarettes, will be prohibited on zoo grounds as part of a wider policy that affects all Metro-operated facilities. Smoking has long been prohibited inside zoo buildings, but has previously been allowed in designated outdoor areas.

Portland City Council approves name change for PCPA venue

Brunish groupThe Portland City Council has approved changing the name of Portland Center for the Performing Arts’ flexible-space venue from Brunish Hall to Brunish Theatre. The name change comes on the heels of a recently completed renovation that turned the space into a true black box theater designed to better serve local theater companies.

East Metro: Weigh in before decision-makers take action!

On June 6, the East Metro Connections Plan steering committee is scheduled to finalize an action plan that includes agreement on future transportation projects that support economic and community development. These projects, bundled into investment packages, provide better access and mobility, increase safety, activate employment areas and help people find their way through and to key destinations in the East Metro area.
